As we near the close of another year, we at Foster Cares Ltd wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared with our fostering family. From heartfelt moments to unwavering support, 2023 has been a year brimming with inspiring stories and the rock-solid commitment of our foster carers.
This year has been graced by the dedication and love of our foster carers. Your commitment has been the backbone of every success and heart-warming story we’ve had the honour to witness. From the simple joys of our gatherings, like the fostering fortnight celebrations in May to our Macmillan Coffee Morning in September, and our memorable summer events in between, each occasion highlighted what truly matters in fostering – unity, love, and support. These moments painted a vivid picture of the unshakeable bond that ties our foster care community together.
In 2023, as some of our dedicated carers retired, their love and support will forever remain in our hearts and homes. As we welcomed new faces, fresh dreams, and diverse experiences into our Foster Cares family, we continued to embrace change while cherishing the memories created together.
This year’s stories were nothing short of inspiring. Karen and Kay’s journey showcased the transformative power of love, while Julie & Paul’s fostering story illustrated the profound impact of patience, understanding, and love in nurturing children. Additionally, Julie and Colin’s remarkable dedication, along with David’s tireless commitment. These stories from our foster carers stood as shining examples of the hard work that goes on within our fostering community.
From the young achievers receiving awards to the creative expressions of our foster children in the King’s Coronation Competition, as well as the heart-warming designs showcased on our Christmas card and the imaginative artwork featured in the 2024 calendar competition, each story echoed the incredible resilience, talent, and spirit thriving within our foster care network.
Our collaborations with our local football teams, including both an adult team and a children’s youth team, were not just about sponsorship; they were our way of supporting homegrown talent and uplifting our community. These partnerships stood as pillars for our local talents, nurturing not just skills on the field but also resilience, teamwork, and dedication.
Together, we’ve grown through learning experiences such as the Foetal Alcohol (FASD) Training, Therapeutic Training & LGBTQ+ Training, ensuring our foster carers are equipped to meet the unique needs of children in their care. These sessions not only provided valuable insights but also highlighted our commitment to ongoing support and training.
Our recent Christmas celebrations were a beautiful testament to togetherness, gratitude, and love. Families united, sharing in the magic of the season.
As we approach the end of this remarkable year, our gratitude overflows. Our heartfelt thanks extend to every foster carer, staff member, partner, and supporter who has been part of our journey. Your dedication, love, and unwavering commitment have transformed lives, creating brighter futures for the children in our care.
