At Foster Cares Ltd we are proud to listen to the views of children and young people
We think it’s important to actively promote their views and opinions.
So, we set-up a dedicated email address for children and young people to share their views email@example.com
Additionally, we run dedicated workshops and groups to get young people involved in the development of the agency.
Social media age limits
We know that many children are using social media when ‘officially’ they are too young to sign up to the sites. We know because they tell us! Lots say mum or dad have signed them up – sometimes years ago.
There is nothing illegal in that. However, bear in mind that if you signed your up 8 year old up to Facebook 5 years ago saying they were 13 years old – they now appear as an 18 year old on the site.
If an adult tries to groom your now 13 year old via social media, they will be able to argue that they thought they were talking to an adult. Remember to update their details, check their privacy settings and talk to them about the pictures they use for their profile, so they are safe online!
